I liked our “Fish are Friends, NOT Food” discussion and as a follow up I have a few questions for you to answer today :)  First things first…Do fish have rights? No, seriously. If yes, what rights they have/should have. If no, why not?
Secondly, I’d like you to write a diary entry based on one day in the life of the fish :)
And last but not least - what should you do when you see an endangered fish/animal eating an endangered plant? Have fun! Monday is almost there!

  1. "Fish is not food, fish is a friend"
    1. Do fish have rights?
People on this question will probably never give an exact answer, since more than half of the population believes that fish is just food.
But if I were a fish, then I would definitely like to have the right, because I do not have the right and just to live with the hope that I'm not caught by fishermen and do not eat....it sadly:(
In my opinion, fish have rights. For example, people have the right to education, medicine, and therefore fish have rights.
    2. If there are rights, what are they?
Well, I think they have the following rights:
    -the right to life;
    -the right to free movement;
    -The right to food
-The right to reproduction and many others.
    3. What to do to prevent fish, animals and plants from being endangered?
Well, first of all, take care of the environment, because the life of all living on the planet depends on it.
Many fish die because of waste from factories that pour into rivers and seas.
Also, many living things die because of poaching. How many species of animals died out of human intervention and how many species of fish die out now in the seas, which are simply caught for restaurants, shops and exports.
    4. An excerpt from a personal diary of fish.
    "Hi, dear diary.
Today I had a very busy day. Waking up to hungry at 4 am, I decided to find something to eat. I did not want algae today, so I decided to search, something tastier. As I swam, I noticed a worm, it was a very tasty look that I would like to eat it the soonest. And then I'm floating to meet my breakfast and my friend hits me.By this he saved me, because it turned out that the worm was a bait on a fishing rod.But we really wanted to eat, so we came up with a plan to kidnap our breakfast. And since everything happened as we planned, we were well-fed and fun, we swam to meet adventure, and who knows that we are still waiting ahead. :)"

  2. I think that fish have some rights like any creature on our planet. Everything in nature should be in harmony and nowadays people think they are like Gods on the Earth and can do whatever they want. And the worst thing that we do is disturbing the balance: we pollute the planet, destroy natural habitats for our needs, mindlessly kill creatures not only for food, but also for decorations and our convenience. So as for me, problem is not in eating fish, because if fish wants to eat and is meat-eating, it will eat people without thinking if human has rights (yes, now I’m talking about sharks and piranhas). Furthermore, if fish eating an endangered fish/animal or an endangered plant, will it care about it? Of course no, its natural for it so why should we care about it? I mean that we shouldn’t interfere in natural processes but if we violate the rights, we should fix it. So fish have right to live in normal natural habitat and we can’t destroy it.
And for the end, fish’s day is something like this (it’s really hard for me to combine this topic with those serious questions) :
    Dear Diary,
    14 april, 2018

This was a really good day for me. Morning especially pleased me with a good portion of plankton and after a hearty breakfast I was full of energy to go for a search of my soul mate. It’s a really hard mission because every fish I had met just ate her offspring and generally I feel too smart in comparison with another fish. I was wandering in the depths of the ocean and saw a wonderful fish swimming near the corals. What was after that I don’t really want to remember because it was the most crazy thing I’ve ever done. There were fishing nets and that fish would have died if I hadn’t saved her. So now I finally excited about my future and hope that like in normal love story we will be together and die in one day.

  3. Okay, let me take our pink glasses off. Do the fish have rights? No. I will explain why:
First of all, the system of rights and responsibilities was created by human. Intelligent mankind decided to create something, that will limit our actions and establish some rules in our society. It was created by humans for humans, not fish, animals, etc.
Secondly, if you have rights then you must have a responsibilities, too. Without it, a chaos would be in the world. We would measure our rights. Everyone would not like to do something. Obviously, if you claim your rights, you have to do something to establish a balance between your personality and society, where you live.

    Hi, waterproof piece of paper,
I'm writing with ink of cuttlefish, which is living nearby. She didn't want to give it so I was need to scary her. Any way, this night something happened. My son, Nemo, was captured by human. The third time. As always, I got out of water and put on translator-adapter. I started screaming at this human and advised him to read the New Constitution. Frightened by myself, he quickly run away. But then I noticed that I was late for my work. What a day.

Funny. So do fish have responsibilities? No.
And what about third task. Just don't touch endangered rhino or lion and you will be safe and sound. It's not our business.
May be you would think that I am rude. But imagine a mosquito. We kill them because they want our blood. The want to eat. We kill fish and animals because we want to eat. No-one have right but us. And that's make me feel sad.

  4. Very interesting questions. It's feel like You ask: " Do food have rights?". Maybe, yes. First of all, it has the right to be eaten. Secondly, fish has right of being tasty and not tasty with not taking into account where they were born. Fish has right to do what they want in any weather because nobody cares about it . True democracy and freedom of choice! But... To tell the truth, people are often not humane to other people, so can they be humane to fish?
So, second question, I must write a diary entry based on one day in the life of the fish. Page from a diary :"I am fish. I swim with other fish. It's great. We eat together. It's great. OMG, I saw a bad fish! He will eat us!! Run, run, RUN. ( But we run together and it's great ). Oh no, it's too close! Guys, run, guys! G...". The last word was not written because I was eaten. Fail.
And last... What should I do when I see an endangered fish/animal eating an endangered plant? Really? Nothing. Because there always be a person who will kill the endangered fish and destroy the endangered plant.

  5. On my opinion fish may have rights, because many people catching it and many species are threatened or extinct. But noone cares about fish, because they haven't time or they making money on it. It would be hard to say "fish is our friends" or "fish is only stupid food that not have brains". This will be conditional: someone likes fishes as home pets or saves them from extinct, other like to eat it, cook in different ways, catching to earn money. Everyone has diiferent thinking about this.
For me fish is only food, I don't like aquariums and other "static" habitats for the pets. Also fish is full with healthy vitamins, microelements and other.
Diary of one day of fish may be not very big. Fishes are not sleeping. They are only get into passive state, they are not closing eyes for sleep. Fish is only swimming in habitat, finding food and its memory is not very big - they can save remembers only from 30 seconds to 2-3 days, memory is "cleaning" every period so fish can life many lives. Also it can be catched and cooked in dish.☻
If I saw endangered fish that is eating I can't do nothing. Because it's caring is on conscience of person that eating this fish. We all must be more careful with our planet, because it's not infinitely.

  6. It’s absurdly to say that fish have rights because I and most of people around the world eat fish almost every day. But it’s also cruelly to say that they don’t cause fish are also animate beings which also can have a society, hierarchy, their law and maybe even currency. So a question “Do fish have rights?” is really a trouble maker. I have some arguments to talk about. We are mankind, we are people and we are on the top of terrestrial food-chain, so we eat everything on the Earth, even each other(almost none, but it has right to be written here XD). If think logically, carnivorous fish don’t think before eating people “Do they have rights?” They are hungry, they’ll do it anyway. And if we’re talking about fish’s daily eating habits, I think it’s kind of normal thing: an endangered fish/animal eating an endangered plant. Maybe it’s because they don’t have The Red Book XD. I think it’s absolutely naturally and we shouldn’t really care about it.
AHAHAHAH. no, are you serious? A diary entry day in the life of the fish? Okay, this is going to be interesting:

    Dear Diary,
I understand that it’s impossible for me like a fish to write in you, because actually I don’t have hands and my fin is not accommodated for writing by pen. But how my friend from Yellow Sea always says “Duuuuuude, do not be worrying, everything is just possible”. My morning was really unforgettable. I woke up not under my stone, and I found I was sleeping under a huge-apartment stone of my best friend. It just called to my mind that me and a big colony of fish were celebrating someone’s birthday. I think it was huge party with the best sort of planktons and the best entertainments in the whole wide sea. The next thing that I did was going home because I needed to pack my things as I was going to move to another sea and even more to another ocean. I MOVED TO THE PACIFIC OCEAN! I finally did it and now I live near Japan in the best apartment stone (not as good as my friend but still…). And I am writing in you just from my new stone. I think now I need to prepare house-warming party which is gonna be tomorrow. I need to buy some staff. See ya tomorrow, diary!

  7. 1. In my opinion, fish have rights. But they have not such rights as people have. In the world, there are a lot of fish that are in danger of extinction. That is why, species of fish, which are rare, should have rights, thus we can save them. If fish have rights, people can't kill them. So the number of rare fish is increased. And some ecological problems will be solved.Nevertheless, it is necessary for people to consume fishes. Because it is very good for fuman health. So, I think, some fishes, that are not rare, should be killed and be eaten. And, of course, these fishes don't have rights.

    2. The Letter of the Small Fish

    Hi mom!
I'm recoding my audio SMS from my new aquarium. As you know, I live in the city where all fishes have rights on the same level with people. People, in this city, have learned how to recognise our language. And I'm very happy about that. Today, I waked up at 8 AM and had the breakfast with my friends. After that I played and studied my new territory. At 1 PM, my friends and I had English lessons with our new teacher Sam. He is very smart person. After that I played in the aquarium for very clever fishes. In the evening, I had a dinner and returned to my aquarium, because I wanted to watch film "Fish are friends, NOT food". And it was really entresting. Well, I must finished now. It's already 10 PM and I must go to sleep now.
    Best wishes,
    your son Tom.

    3. What should I do when I see an endangered fish eating an endangered plant? Well, it is very easy question for me. Of course, I give this fish a plant that is not endangered. It is very easy and no one will get hurt:)

  8. ‘’Fish are Friends’’ - in this case I EAT MY FRIENDS almost every day(sounds creepy).
I think that fish can be NOT food only if she lives in an aquarium and if it is your aquarium than this fish can be your ‘’friend’’ (not real friend of course).

Do fish have rights? Sure! In my opinion, everything created by nature has the right to exist. BUT when I was in primary school, teachers were always talking that «If someone wants to have rights, he/she needs to have responsibilities». So, If any fish will have responsibility to take out the garbage from my house several times a week, Ok this fish should have rights to live safe life, to education and other..

‘‘What should you do when you see an endangered fish/animal eating an endangered plant?’’ - as I know animals very angry when someone touch them while eating, so I will very carefully try to get animal away from endangered plant.

    Dear Dairy,

Today I was bought by brutal man with beard. Hooray! Finally I left fishmarket and I have my own home)). Now I live in 100-litre aquarium, it is a lot of cool staff in my house. Also I am not alone, I have roommate, his name is Karas, he is very funny and interesting fish. I am so tired now because I was busy all day, I was swimming from one side of aquarium to other, ALL DAY. So, it was amazing day, I am so happy.

  9. Do fish have rights? Yes, of course. As every creature they have right to live, to eat, to move and so on. It’s something that can’t be given or taken. And humans should respect it.

Sometimes I think that I don’t very differ from fish. Like... typical day is “wake up, eat, move, eat, move, eat, move to my sleep place and sleep”. And it repeats day by day, week by week. It becomes something like question of surviving in this cruel and unfair world. I think it’s familiar to everybody to feel like little fishy in the huuuuuge ocean...

And last question. In my opinion, if one endangered fish eat other endangered plant, it will look like rare fish want to eat some dainty))). And no one can disturb it. It makes fishy feel upset.

  10. I love eating fish. So, for me fish don't have rights. I just don't understand why fish must have rights. Okay, okay, everyone have rights. But fish, seriously? In my opinion, fish live to be eaten. And when you go fishing, do you really think about fishs' rights. Oh c'mon guys. What about diary. As all fish, I will just swim in the ocean and think about how hard my life is. Really. You think it's easy not to be eaten by a shark? Pff, no. Actually, I have more problems than you, just ordinary people think. I always wanted to have my own home. I have been thinking about buying a fancy apartment in a prestigious district. But I don't have enough corals( it's our currensy). So, yep, we are just like people. I also have plans to find my couple and have a baby-fish. We also have schools, restaurants and even cinemas. The last time, when I was in the cinema, I saw a horror film where an angry shark-maniac have hunted all the small fish in the ocean. Really horrific!!! So, that's everything I wanted to tell you about my daily routine, pathetic human beings.
Actually, If an endangered fish/animal ate an endangered plant, I would just do nothing. And it's not because I don't care. I just think that nature knowns what to do, and there's no need in doing something to help her.

  11. Oh, damn it. Realy?! I don't like this topic. I know my rights. I have right to remain silent. Can I use it?
If realy speak about rights of fish, they don't have them at all. If they will come to uw and say "Hey man, what are you doing?! We are live creatures, than why you eat us?" I'll think, but its not gonna happen... Never, they are toooooo stupid to speak, to even make a sound.
Diary of fish? Funny) I think its make no sense. I'm a fish. I'm swimming all day, eat all day grass or another fish.
And about animal and plant. I will stay neutral. Its natural process that animal eat plant. Don't have to discourage to them.

  12. In my opinion,fish haven’t any right,now I will explain why.
Firstly, fish it’s only animal, that can’t live with us, like a dog or а cat, becouse it always need water.
    Some about rights:yeah,they haven’t it.
For people it’s only food, and in some situations like decorations for house, maybe friends. In some rooms any people have aquarium with different colorful fishes, wich cost a lot,and look very beautiful. Then you look at it,you can get relaxed. It’s really good reason to get aquarium.
What about*Write diary entry based on one day in the life of the fish*.Someone say, that fish have bad memory,like,10 second around aquarium, and it forget all,so,every day fish swim in his around aquarium, and eat his feed....
    And last but not least:
If endangered animal(fish)eating endangered plant..To my mind - it’s ok,because nature destroys nature to get alive, animal need it to survive, its normally. So,in this situation i will do nothing:)

  13. From point of view of most powerful kind on Earth, fish have no rights, cause they are exist only for human purposes(food, entertainment, etc.). In my opinion, everything and everyone should have right to life(except species, that exist only to kill, main and burn, and my teammates in different games). Sometimes, animals and plants lives worth much more than lives of some part of humanity, because some people reached heights of violence and descended to bottom of egoism. So, some fishes have more rights than specific people.
If I see endangered fauna eating endangered flora, I’ll neutralize those, who made them endangered(human kind, yay). I think, that we must coexist with nature and use nature resources as much as we need and no more. We need to help nature, if we want nature to help us. We can tell about this topic much more druid stuff, but back to fishes.
When I read topic first time, I thought it’s too awkward to write fish diary, but after some time, I chose to made fun of this.

    Corporal Jaws,
    19th of April, 1969
I love the smell of fish food in the morning. It smells like victory.
I haven’t slept for last 48 hours. Damn Hooks, they are in algae. They learned to hide even there. Yesterday, we left nine of our battle brothers in fight for Mekong. Pvt. Roach was too young to be eaten. He told me:*intense nothing*(“Jaws, I can’t feel my fin”), and I said him: *nothing intensifies*(“You don’t have it”). Neptune, bless his soul.
Tomorrow we storm Hongha. Colonel Finsky told us, that he will personally roll up us in fish conserve and deliver it to starving human children in Africa if we won’t take the depth.
Hope, it won’t be my last entry.

  14. As for me, it sounds really naive : "Fish have rights". Can you imagine our world, in which all animals have rights? Personaly, I can't. Just think, lions, they prefer to eat meat, so they have to hunt if they want to survive. Of course, they will ignore all antelope's rights. There is a big amount of predators in the world and giving rights to victims, we take predator's right to live.
Now about fish. We can't protect fish from people and other predators. It's impossible. For someone fishing is a way to earn money, especially in poor country. "Survival of the fittest" - it's the main rule of this world. Fish have all rights (to live, to eat, to have fun). But when someone or something comes to eat them, their rights become null and void. Actually, let us be realistic, people have and have to solve more important problem then fish. The last point. Personaly, I know the way, how to save animals from eating endangered plant - just walk up to him and it decided to run away, it's proven method.

  15. Well. I think fish have rights only in their world. After she was caught on the hook, she has rights only for the fact that death would be quick. Personally, I do not consider fish as a person of our society, which should have any rights. If we still observe the rules of the fish, then this world will be lost finally. In our country, the rights of people are not all respected, not to mention the rights of fish As for me, fish is just food. On account of one day from the fish,I think that their whole life is a senseless voyage in the river or the sea, and nothing special or intercourse can be with them because they have the rights about what I said earlier.I think that rare animals are not extinct, we have to do something with our ecology. Because many animals died out just because of this (especially fish). So, fish it`s only food without something rules.
P.S Please, can you give more easier topic, because it`s teribble

  16. To be honest I don't like fish so much. I think they are stupid and they haven't any feelings. So now I eat fish, maybe one day I will change my position and stop doing this. I also don't understand people who have fishes as a pet but it's another story:)
I think all live creatures have some rights. For example right to live, right to eat, right to continue their population, right to move, right to breathe and so on.
It's extremely hard to imagine fish diary but I think it can looks like that "Hi! Today in the morning I swam with my brothers and sisters we were looking for food, we find some tasty seaweed. After that we had a lot of fun. We swam between beautiful corals and tried to find one another. After that we swam in the sea again. Than big shark ate part of my siblings but I run away and that is why I am still alive. Then me and my friends who were still alive continue swimming. Now I do the same. Bye."
What should I do when I see an endangered fish/animal eating an endangered plant? I would nothing to do because it's nature and it's normal.

  17. For me, it immediately resembles a quote from the cartoon "In Search of Nemo". In fact, this cartoon seriously raised the sales of aquariums and fish. Today, fish are no longer perceived, if previously aquariums were planted for the sake of fish, then today fish are planted for the sake of the aquarium. A few years ago people for the sake of their favorite hobby were ready to give up a lot. Today everyone is striving to surprise each other with what the aquarium is made of and what shape it is. Therefore, fish for us, not only as eat, but also as a hobby.

  18. 1. I think that fish have no rights in the sense that people put in this word, because animals do not have an organization that can create and document these rights. I'm sure that a person can create "fish rights", but this will not make these rights real from the point of view of the fish themselves.

    Hello, dear diary.
Today was a beautiful day. I was swimming around my coral with my friends, but then he came, the fish of my dreams. I was afraid that he would notice me, so I was quiet. Suddenly, he swam up to me and said "Glug-glug, can you swim with me to a nearby reef on the weekends?"
I was very happy and agreed. Then I came home and began to prepare for tomorrow. That's why I'm in a great mood today.
    3. I do not understand at all at the dying animals and plants, so if I saw an endangered fish or animal eating an endangered plant I would not even pay attention and pass by.

2.A diary ------------------. It's erased. This is a fish, if it had a diary, then it would be on the sand, which means that it will eventually wipe out.^_^
3.I think that some endangered plant or fish will not be under protect. But if i`ll see such scene, i don`t think that i can help something.Maybe its wrong/ but i realy dont care.

    2) Hello ,diary. Today I spent the whole day swimming near seaweed and stones and trying to find food, seriously this is all that can be in this diary. And maybe story about fish run away from sharks or other creatures.

  21. 1.Оf course fish can't have the same rights as people. Fish aren’t equal with people. However ,in my opinion ,they still have some rights. For example, to swim where they want , cross from one sea to another, breathe ,eat, build their own houses. Also they still have a right to life, but people ignore this law and kill them for food.
    2.Dear Diary,
Today was an excited day.Wake up early and good eating I decided to go to the unexplored me water. I've swam and enjoyed the beautiful corals and seaweed ,when suddenly I saw two huge sharks. I quickly started looking for a place to hide. I swam over large rocks and hoping that they willn’t find me. Behind the rocks I saw another fish ,she was very friendly and invited me to his house wait out the danger. We became friends with Neo and I think we will spend all the time together.
    3. If I see an endangered fish/animal eating an endangered plant ,I think I would have nothing to do. If I willn’t give this fish/animal eating this plant, but anyway some other fish/animal will eat this plant. It is nature.
