Go for ZNO 2019: usage problems: Awhile, a while

•         Awhile is an adverb, meaning “for a while.”  A while is an article and a noun and is usually used after the preposition for.

•         Rest awhile if the driver is not yet around.

•         Stay for a while and keep me company while you wait for the driver.
